Paul Rudy Obituary

Paul J. Rudy VIRGINIA BEACH - Paul J. Rudy, 84, of the 5100 block of Hemlock Ave., died Aug. 30, 2010 in a local hospital. He was born in Canonsburg, Pa., and was the son of the late Paul Rudy and Susan Nagy Holmes. Paul was a automotive manager and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was an active member of St. Francis Episcopal Church in Virginia Beach and member of the Bayside Masonic Lodge No. 218. Paul is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jean H. Rudy; 11 children, Susan Latham of Virginia Beach, Daniel T. Rudy of Virginia Beach, H.E. "Chip" Golden of Virginia Beach, Jean Arthur Hejnal of Wisconsin, Paula J. Utegg of Norfolk, Becki Roberts of Norfolk, Dyan Rudy, Maxine Marie Gandy of Virginia Beach, Deborah Rudy, Jual Downs Atkins of Richmond, and W.L. "Billy" Scarborough of Georgia. He is also survived by 35 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene Rudy of Washington and Charles "Sonny" Daout of Chesapeake; a sister, Jacqueline Ackerman of Florida; a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Peremlia "Predy" Anthony; and a sister, Geraldine Williams. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, at Saint Francis Episcopal Church by the Rev. Fred Poteet. Burial will follow in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Francis Episcopal Church, 509 S. Rosemont Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23452. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon- brown.com.
