Charles Bryant Obituary

Charles Bryant Sr. VIRGINIA BEACH - Charles Wade Bryant Sr., 86, passed away Sept. 5, 2010 in a local hospital. A native of Chattanooga, Tenn., he was the son of the late Carson H. Bryant Sr. and Levecha Poe Bryant. He was the retired co-owner and operator of Bryant Appliance with 35 years of service. He was a member of Kempsville Baptist Church and the Kempsville Golf Course Marauders. Charles served with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during World War II and was a plank owner of the USS Lewis DS 35. He was predeceased by his wife, Margie H. Bryant. He is survived by his daughter, Judith Bryant Tudor and her husband Allen of Chesapeake; his son, Charles Wade Bryant Jr. and wife Teresa of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Barbara Stanfield and husband Al of Apison, Tenn., and Betty Davidson of Gray Court, S.C.; two brothers, Wendell P. Bryant and wife Doris of Ooltewah, Tenn., and C.H. Bryant and wife Lucille of Virginia Beach; one granddaughter, Cheryl T. Griffin and husband Chris of Virginia Beach and one great- grandson, Tyler B. Griffin of Virginia Beach. He also leaves behind Aster Habte who lovingly cared for Margie and then Charles and is considered a devoted member of the family. A funeral will be conducted Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. The burial will follow in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. I can not believe it has been so long since Charlie passed away... I loved working with him on his real estate loans. He was always such a sweetheart!

I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Bryant (Charlie) was one of my most favorite clients and a very special person to me. I had not heard until today about his death and apologize for not being there. Please accept my most sincere condolences.
