Albert Palmer Obituary

Albert D. Palmer VIRGINIA BEACH - Albert "Dan" Palmer, 84, died Sept. 5, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. The son of the late Sam and Maude Trexler Palmer, Dan was born Dec. 9, 1925 in Rockwell, N.C. He was predeceased by his sisters, Kate Ballard of Baltimore and Betty Davis of China Grove, N.C. He has two surviving sisters, Glenda Cox of China Grove and Mildred Suddeth of Charlotte, N.C. His wife of 62 years, Mildred, survives him. He lived in Virginia for more than 62 years, retired from Sears and Roebuck where he practiced his craftsmanship as a watchmaker. Additionally he is survived by his son, Al; his daughter, Pam and husband Michael Ayotte; and his son, Mark and wife Michele. He also had been blessed with four grandchildren, Justin, Matthew, Katie and Stephen. A hero to his family, he provided them with unconditional love. The family would like to express their gratitude and deepest appreciation to the staff at Sentara Hospice Care for their compassionate support and superb treatment. A funeral will be at noon Thursday, Sept. 9, at Azalea Garden Church of God, 1541 Centerville Turnpike, Virginia Beach. Burial will follow in Princess Anne Memorial Park. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.altmeyer.com.
