Mildred Goldstein Obituary

Mildred G. Goldstein PORTSMOUTH - Mildred Goldfarb Goldstein, 91, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010 at Beth Sholom Home, Virginia Beach. She was a native of Portsmouth, graduated from Woodrow Wilson and attended Temple University. Mrs. Goldstein was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Goldstein; parents, Abe and Sarah Goldfarb; and two brothers, Dave and Joseph Goldfarb. She was a lifelong member of Gomley Chesed Synagogue, Gomley Chesed Sisterhood, Hadassah and Beth Sholom Home. Survivors include two sons, Kenneth and wife Hilde of Clearwater, Fla., and Marshall and wife Vivian of Bradenton, Fla.; two grandchildren, Kari of Miami and Andrew of Lakewood Ranch, Fla.; and cousins, nieces and nephews from the Moses and Goldfarb families. A graveside service will be conducted at Gomley Chesed Cemetery Sunday, Sept. 12, at 12:30 p.m. by Rabbi David Goldstein. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Beth Sholom Village, 6401 Auburn Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23464. Today I just found out about the loss of your mother Mildred. We were out of town when she passed away. Though I couldn't be with you at her funeral,my thoughts were there and my heart ached. May you treasure her memory as I will for she was a beautiful person.May you and your family know of no more sorrow.
