Levenia Johnson

Levenia R. Johnson IVOR - Levenia R. Johnson, 82, of the 6100 block of Proctors Bridge Road, passed away Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010 at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg, Va. She was a native of Southampton, Va., and the daughter of the late Anthony Ruffin and Francis Clarey Ruffin. She was also predeceased by her husband, Reginald W. Johnson Sr. She retired from Diamond Meat Company and was a cosmetic representative for Lucky Heart Products. She was a member of New Branch Baptist Church where she was an usher, deaconess and member of the Missionary Circle. She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Reginald W. Johnson Jr. (Gwendolyn) of Ivor; one sister, Gracie Joyner of Chapel Hill, N.C.; two grandchildren, Reginald Wesley Johnson (Crystal) and Christopher Mark Johnson; special niece/sister, Katherine Davis; special friend and caregiver, Gertrude Gwaltney; caregiver, Catherine W. Harris; sisters-in-law, Gladys Ruffin and Endie Mae Ruffin; other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held Saturday, Sept. 11, at 1 p.m. in New Branch Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Frank L. Aikens Sr. Interment will be in the Davis Cemetery on General Mahone Boulevard in Ivor. The family is receiving friends at 6147 Proctors Bridge Road, Ivor.
