Yolanda Crist

Yolanda Romubio Crist HAMPTON - Yolanda Romubio Crist, 79, passed away Friday, Sept. 10, 2010. Born in Ancon Canal Zone of Panama, she had been a resident of Hampton Roads since 1946. Yolanda graduated from Granby High School in 1950. She then worked as an administrative assistant in federal service for many years. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was part of the Ladies of St. Joseph, a member of the Holy Family Retreat Society and the Virginia AAU. Yolanda was a loving wife of 55 years, and a devoted mother and grandmother, committed to family, church and community service. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, brother, sister and grandson. Surviving are her husband, Robert W. Crist Sr.; sons, Robert W. Crist II, Jonathan A. Crist and Paul V. Crist; brother, Carlos Romubio; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions. Immediately following at 7 p.m., a Christian wake will be held in the funeral home chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church by the Rev. William Spillane, C.Ss.R. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
