Eduardo Acebedo Obituary

Eduardo R. Acebedo VIRGINIA BEACH - Eduardo Ragat Acebedo lost his battle with cancer on Sept. 9, 2010. He passed away at the age of 64 with loved ones beside him and is already dearly missed. He was born in San Felipe, Zambales, Philippines, where he married the love of his life Eugenia (Aurora) Finones Acebedo, his wife of 39 years. A man of great principle and American pride, Eduardo proudly served 22 years in the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his loving wife Aurora; three children, Genedee, Gladdys and Audie; and five grandchildren, Alex, Elizabeth, Gavin, Quinn and Rachael, all of whom he loved with joy and was a great source of laughter and wisdom. A funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. with the viewing one hour prior, on Wednesday, Sept. 15, at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 1505 Kempsville Road, Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society in memory of Eduardo R. Acebedo, c/o Gladdys Marsh, 932 Laconia Court, Virginia Beach, VA 23464. Special thanks to Virginia Oncology Associates, Sentara Leigh Hospital and Sentara Hospice Program. Cremation & Funeral Services of Tidewater is handling arrangements.

I would like to extend my warmest sympathy and condolences to my former classmate, Eugenia (Aurora). I'm very sorry for the loss of your husband. My prayers are with you always especially during this moment of grief. We all know that he is in the hands of our Heavenly Father. May his soul rest in peace.
