Dorothy Ilvento Obituary

Dorothy L. Ilvento VIRGINIA BEACH - Dorothy L. "Dottie" Ilvento, 78, went home peacefully to be with the Lord, Sept. 8, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 27, 1932 to the late Richard and Josephine Phillips in Brooklyn, N.Y. She was preceded in death by her loving daughter, Patty Ann; three brothers, William Phillips, Charles Phillips, Richard Phillips; and two sisters, Florence Fabiano and Clara Fabiano. Dottie was a devoted, loving, caring, giving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend. Left to cherish her memory are: the father of her children, Joseph Ilvento; sons, Joseph Ilvento and wife Shawn, Nicholas Ilvento and wife Denise, Michael Ilvento, David Ilvento and wife Laura; daughter, Christine Grose and husband Jerry; and surviving husband Kenneth of Patricia Plume; grandchildren, Kenny, Kimberly, Dylan, Perry, Gina, Nick, Judd, Brian, Jenifer, Samantha, Raven, Amber and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Johnny, Anthony, Vincent, Dominic, Johanna, Breeann, Darrell, Zachary, Jakob and Dean; and great- great-grandchild, Elijah. Also left to cherish her memory are her surviving sisters, Irene Cuzzone, Josephine Slack, Catherine Wehmeyer; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and many friends. She was truly a gift from heaven on earth and will be dearly missed by family and friends. It's those like Dottie who had a big heart and little pocketbook who left everlasting memories. May the wisdoms, strength, and love that she received in her life and instilled in her family, be passed on for many generations to come. A memorial service is being planned by the family for a later date. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
