Betty Pace Obituary

Betty Ann Pace NORFOLK - Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Pace, 77, of the 7300 block of Granby St., died Aug. 27, 2010. Betty was born in Norfolk the daughter of the late Charles W. Pace Jr. and Nellie Morgan Pace. She taught English at Kempsville High School and retired from the Virginia Beach Public School System with more than 25 years of service. Betty was an amateur writer, painter and sculptor having sold some of her work in Norfolk. She was also an avid gardener and prominent in genealogical research. Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Charles W. Pace III. Survivors include her brother, David J. Pace and his wife Mary of Woodbridge, Va., as well as her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A graveside service will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24, in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Father Joseph H. Metzger III. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Humane Society. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
