Mom, this one's for you....
Gone is a mom loved by all,
Her soul is now at rest.
She'll sleep in peace, her work is done.
She'll know the joy of perfect rest
In heaven up above,
Where she may dwell contentedly
Protected by God's love.
Our hearts may grieve that she must lie
Beneath the sacred sod,
And yet we know she lives in peace
Within the house of God.
Love and Miss YOU MOM!

Mom,
As the days go by it gets harder and harder to realize you've left us. I have caught myself getting ready to call you as I would do in the mornings on my way to work, and then realize I can't because you've gone to a bigger and better place. It's even harder to go home now and you're not there. When Ronnie & I left your house last Sunday, it was one of the hardest things to do as we had picked up daddy's recliner for Ronnie Jr. and I cried half the way back home. It was hard enough trying to see in the pouring down rain and crying on top of that. Thank God we had a safe trip back home through the tears and the rain. Just can't imagine what's ahead of us, having to go into what was our "ole home place" and cleaning it out.
I know the family with you in Heaven is eating some good ole home cooked meals.
I can just imagine the reunion you had welcoming you home.
I went to visit Aunt Doris & Aunt Catherine while I was down last weekend in the nursing home. They were both doing good.
Uncle Paul misses you just as we do, but he's managing well. I've promised to try to help him with his garden next year.
Shadow is still running around and eating like a hard of hearing/blind little pig.
Ronnie & I hope to go to Wanchese, in the next couple of weeks to put flowers out on Grandma & Granddaddy's grave as we normally do every summer, but didn't make it there during the summer months.
Ronnie Jr. started his testing for Va. State Police, it's a long process, but it's in his blood and he won't be happy till he gets his foot in the door.
Guess it won't be too long before Charlie will have you cooking deer meat & eating it.
Keep watch over us as you always have.
Love & miss you all dearly.

Mom,
I am so grateful to my husband and my family that they agreed and understood the need for us to move to the area so that I could be closer to you. I do feel that the time with you was short, as we always do, but I know you're right where you want to be. You were definitely one of a kind, and I'll be forever grateful that I had the upbringing I had with the best parents ever. Please give Drew and Dad big kisses for me. Miss you lots and look forward to the day that we will be reunited in heaven.
Love,
Trish

Grandma,
It's hard to believe that a simple fall could lead to the events that took you away from us. Although I miss you dearly & it was hard to say good-bye, I know you are truly where you want to be...with "That Charlie Allcox", your two grandsons, God & all the rest of your loved ones. I would imagine you & Granddaddy are already bickering back & forth about something. :-)

I'd like to thank you for all the fond memories you left behind. Remember the time we were in Nags Head for vacation? Aunt Trish & the kids were able to join us. I believe it was 4th of July because they were shooting off fireworks. A firework came in the car & landed on Shawn. He started screaming & you responded by calling him a big baby. You thought he was just being an annoying kid. Well he reaches down & grabs the firework to show it to you & is like "big baby huh". I laughed then & everytime I think of this.

I can only imagine you're already running around heaven making sure everything is perfect for the day we all meet again & cooking some of the fabulous food we will all remember.

"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal."

Love ya Grandma...until we meet again.

P.S. - Don't be so rough on Granddaddy. He's been preparing for 7 years to reunite with his beautiful wife. I'm sad, but happy ya'll are together again!

Gerry was one of the sweetest and kindest ladies I knew. I enjoyed my long conversations with her over the phone, and will miss talking to her. She loved talking about and doting on her three daughters. I know that she will be dearly missed by all, because she will be remembered for always staying busy to help others. My family and I extend our deepest sympathy.

Aunt Jerry,
As I sit here thinking of you, there are so many memories of the visits to your house when I was growing up. There was always such delicious food you had prepared and family members sitting around telling stories or jokes. You know how Mama and Uncle Buddy loved jokes. It was always nice to be in your house. You were such a gracious hostess to everyone. I can see that sweet smile on your face and that Lee squint in your eyes as you are greeted by so many of our family members. Aunt Jerry, you left us so quickly but I know you are in a beautiful peaceful place with God. I will miss you but I will see you again one day. Give Mama and Daddy a hug for me. I love you Aunt Jerry.

Mom, I already miss our every day phone calls and not being able to hear your voice. Elaine, Trish and I were so blessed to have such loving parents. During your last days here on earth, you constantly prayed that God would go ahead and take you. This was my prayers as well but I kept saying that once the pain was gone, then you would be back to your normal self. It hurt to see you in the condition you were in. We had no clue as to how much pain you were in since at times, we were so unsure as to what you were telling us because of the confusion you were experiencing. Your faith and belief in God allowed you to go to heaven; for that we are thankful. We were all looking forward to the day when we can join you, along with all of our family and friends. I have been so fortunate to have the support of Elaine and Trish and I could not have asked for better sisters. There are in the end three things that last: Faith, Hope, and Love, and the greatest of these is LOVE (1 Corinthians 13:13). Miss you Mom! Love, Sherry

Mom, I already miss our every day phone calls and not being able to hear your voice. Elaine, Trish and I were so blessed to have such loving parents. I am sure you know that I was always a person who believed in the following scripture: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. As your daughter, I tried to make sure that you were given the best of care and I truly believe that you did receive that towards the end. Beth Shalom and the staff at Sentara Leigh should be commended for the care and compassion that they provided.

Your faith and belief in God is what got you to heaven. I have been so fortunate to have the support of Elaine and Trish and I could not have asked for better sisters. For those who are reading this, please remember....There are in the end three things that last: Faith, Hope, and Love, and the greatest of these is LOVE (1 Corinthians 13:13). Miss you Mom! Grandman Allcox was an inspiration. She was a strong, faithful Christian woman who loved her Lord and her family. She is the woman described in Proverbs 31. I have only fond memories of our time together and the many things she taught me about life. She will be missed but I know she is celebrating with the angels back home with our Lord.

I have so many memories of Aunt Jerri as I was growing up. She was always so loving and gracious. What a blessing she was to our family as she opened her home to us when Daddy (Bill Perry, Uncle Buddy's cousin) was in the hospital in Norfolk many years ago. I always looked forward to receiving her Christmas card each year. She will be greatly missed but is at peace with the Lord that she loved so much. Trish, Sherri and Elaine we are praying for all of you. Love Bill and Helen (Perry) Phillips

Mom, Didn't expect you to leave us this soon, but God called you home with bigger and better plans for you. I'm sure you're having a huge family reunion in Heaven. You were always a loving, compassionate, faithful & supportive MOM. You left us with loads of memories that we will treasure in our hearts forever. We will miss your pickled beets, pickles, banana nut bread, potato salad and most of all YOU. Thank you for showing me how to love and respect. I had promised you I'd stay with you until the end just as I did with daddy. I'm so sorry that I left to go to take a shower, I should have just stayed. I feel like I've let you down. The hospital allowed us to stay with you to prep you to leave and we were allowed to walk down with you where the funeral home was to pick you up. I know Heaven is full of smiles!
We Love & Miss You dearly!
