William Bowser Obituary

William H. Bowser PORTSMOUTH - William H. "Strip" Bowser, 72, of the 3500 block of Blaine St., died Sept. 19, 2010. Survivors include his wife, Lulu F. Bowser; four daughters, Nadine Eason of Newport News, Ketina Bowser of Portsmouth, Melinda Johnson (Emmett) of Hampton and Lisa Bowser of Portsmouth; one son, William L. Bowser (Mary) of Portsmouth; his mother, Effie M. Cherry of Portsmouth; two sisters, Elizabeth Bellamy of Portsmouth and Freda Porter of Suffolk; three brothers, Ronnie Griffin of Norfolk, Raymond Griffin and Butch Griffin, both of Portsmouth; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; uncles, aunts, nephew, nieces, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Eshmon Griffin. A funeral will be held Friday, Sept. 24, at noon in Corprew Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.
