Stuart Slight Obituary

Stuart J. Slight SUFFOLK - Stuart J. Slight, 59, of the 100 block of Pecks Mill Court, died Sept. 17, 2010 at MCV Hospital in Richmond. He was born in Chesapeake and retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a police dispatcher after 39 years of service. He was a member of St. John Christian Church in Suffolk and was a member of the male chorus. Survivors include his wife, Tania Slight of Suffolk; one daughter, Anitra Cutler (Terence) of Portsmouth; one stepdaughter, Octavia Singleton of Suffolk; one sister, Cherlyn Harris of Alexandria; one special niece, Jeanene Harris; two special nephews, Percy Theran Slight and Maurice Douglas. A funeral will be held Saturday, Sept. 25, at 1 p.m. in Union Baptist Missionary Church, 5132 Nansemond Parkway, Suffolk, VA 23435, with the Rev. Ronnie Hall Sr. presiding. Burial will follow in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Corprew Funeral Home is in charge.
