Rose Hensley Obituary

Rose Marie H. Hensley CHESAPEAKE - Rose Marie H. Hensley, 84, passed away Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010 in Sentara Leigh Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born Aug. 31, 1926 in Norfolk, the daughter of the late William E. and Roxie Mae Powers Harris. Rose Marie was a recent member of Friendship Chapter 57, Order of the Eastern Star. She was a life member of South Norfolk Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Samuel Russell Hensley Jr.; her son, David Russell Hensley; and her sister, Willie Mae Wilson. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra H. Panzara and husband Anthony; her brother, Ned Harris and wife Gale, all of Chesapeake. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and close friends. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, in Riverside Memorial Park, 1000 E. Indian River Road, Norfolk. The Rev. David Slayton will officiate. At the family's request, there will be no viewing or visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Francis Gay Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, Chesapeake. Friends are also invited to send condolences and sign the online guestbook at www.omanfh.com. Til we meet again.
