Alcia Cole Obituary

Alcia Marie Cole PORTSMOUTH - Alcia Marie Cole of the 1100 block of Jamal Lane East went to be with the Lord Sept. 21, 2010 at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. A native of Bassett, Va., she was the daughter of the late George and Goldie Martin. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Virginia Cole; son, Warren Cole Jr.; and brothers, Ernest and John Henry Martin. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 51 years, Warren E. Cole Sr. whom she fondly called "Larry"; five daughters, Janice Fleetwood (David) of Chesapeake, Donna Leonard (Brian) of Portsmouth, Candace Pitts (Edward) of Skippers, Va., Cheryl Cole (Clifford) of Concord, Va., Lisa Brown (Brian) of Portsmouth; and son, Ronald Cole of Virginia Beach. She is also survived by two sisters, Nancy Rawls of Newport News and Virginia Ellis of Bronx, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Viewing will take place today, Sept. 24, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Metropolitan Funeral Service, 120 W. Berkley Ave., Norfolk. The family will receive guests from 6 to 7 p.m. A celebration of Mrs. Cole's life will be held Saturday, Sept. 25, at 1 p.m. in Cathedral of Faith COGIC, 2020 Portlock Road, Chesapeake. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Condolences may be expressed at www.metropolitanfuneralservices.com. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home.
