Charles Wynne Obituary

Charles L. Wynne CHESAPEAKE - Charles L. Wynne passed away Sept. 11, 2010, in Bonita Springs, Fla., where he resided for the past 12 years. He was born in Norfolk on Oct. 17, 1930. Charles was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Catherine R. Wynne; his parents, William E. Wynn and Mary Elizabeth Wynn; brothers, James, Horace, Irving; and sister, Lillian, all of blessed memory. Charles is survived by his son, Maurice Wynne and his wife Lisa; grandchildren, Steven, Megan and Robin of Joliet, Ill.; his daughter, Sharon W. Shanker and her husband Phillip; grandchildren, Charles and Kayanna of Chesapeake. Charles is also survived by his brother, William and his wife June of Port Richie, Fla.; and his sister, Mary Tyndall. Charles "Charlie" Wynne served in the U.S. Air Force, was co-founder of Chesapeake Fence & Awning Co., Inc.; a two-time governor of South Norfolk Moose Lodge No. 464; a member of San Carlos Golf Club; a loving father, grandfather and dear friend to many. A memorial service was held Sept. 16 at Fort Myers, Fla. The family asks memorial gift donations be sent to Moose Charities Inc., 155 South International Drive, Mooseheart, IL 60539. Dad, you will be missed.

to the family of charlie wynne, mary lou and i are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of such a wonderful man and true friend. we really had some good times with him and kay at chowan and also at thier home. loved to coach his daughter pete in softball. he gave me work when we couldnot make ends meet. he will be missed. he is in God hands now. God bless you all. God will get you through this time of grief. with all our love ralph and mary lou powers.
