Wendy Stelmach Obituary

Wendy E. Stelmach PORTSMOUTH - Wendy Elizabeth Stelmach, 45, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 26, 2010. She was born Feb. 28, 1965 in Laurel, Md., and moved to Portsmouth in 1981. Wendy was preceded in death by her daughter, Angel Courtney Pittman and her father, Stanley L. Green. Before her year long fight with cancer, Wendy worked as a cashier at BJ's. Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Constance and Norman Briggs; sister, Cheryl Correll (Kirk); grandmother, Janice Futrell; loving daughters, Brandy Pittman (Davey Johnsonbaugh), Melissa Lee (James Lee) and Crystal Pittman (Darrell Ross); her pride and joy, granddaughters, Chloe Ross and Kandyze Johnsonbaugh; and several aunts, uncles and extended family. A funeral will be held Friday, Oct. 1, at 1 p.m. in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.

To all of Wendy's dear loved ones and friends: I know that Wendy's passing will leave a huge hole in your lives. I hope and pray that knowing she is no longer in pain and now at peace will give you comfort in the days and weeks ahead. As long as you hold her memory in your heart and remember the joyful times spent with her she will always be with you as she will be with me.
