Charles Snook Obituary

Charles Orie Snook SUFFOLK - Charles Orie Snook, 74, passed away Oct. 8, 2010. He was born in Nansemond County the son of the late William Amos Snook and Mattie Louise Carr Snook. He was predeceased by his sister, Lucy Bradshaw and brother, William "Billy" Snook Jr. Charles served in the National Guard and retired as a parts manager for Nansemond Tractor. He was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church and an honorary member of the Davis - Ridley Hunt Club in Southampton County. Charles is survived by his wife of 53 years, Louise Piland Snook of Suffolk; daughter, Jenny Snook Price and husband Alex of Hope Mills, N.C.; son, Barry Keith Snook and wife Sharon of Suffolk; grandchildren, Melissa Snook, Matthew Price and Brandon Snook; and sister, Elizabeth Wilhide of Wanchese, N.C. A funeral will be held Monday, Oct. 11, at 3 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, VA 23434 with the Rev. Micah Voight officiating. Burial will follow in Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery. Friends may join the family other times at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to the Gideons International, Suffolk Gideon Camp, P.O. Box 1214, Suffolk, VA 23439-1214 or the Make-A- Wish Foundation, 2810 N. Parham Road, Suite 302, Richmond, VA 23294. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
