Emma Griffin Obituary

Emma Dickens Griffin NORFOLK - Emma Dickens "Sis" Griffin, 72, of the 2400 block of Stribling Lane, passed away Oct. 6, 2010 in her home. She was born Feb. 27, 1938 to the late Annie and Johnnie Dickens in Plymouth, N.C. She was a member of Mount Carmel International Worship Center, Portsmouth. She is survived by one daughter, Janis L. Archer (Allen); one son, Min. James Griffin; one brother, Deacon Milton A. Dickens (Ruby); two grandchildren, Tanisha Griffin and Tiffany Griffin (Kevin); four great-grandchildren, Taquon Jackson, Tanzeha Marsh, Taneal Smith and Taniya Spence; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church, 1057 Kennedy St. Dr. Aricsteed Dickens will officiate. Interment will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The family will receive friends 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Metropolitan Funeral Service, Granby St. Chapel. Condolences may be offered at www.metropolitanfuneralservice.com.
