Gladys Briley Obituary

Gladys D. Briley CHESAPEAKE - Gladys D. Briley was called to be with the Lord Oct. 10, 2010 in Palestine, Texas. She was born Jan. 17, 1927 in Pitt County, North Carolina and lived in Chesapeake most of her life before moving to Texas. Mrs. Briley was preceded in death by her husband Curtis L. Briley Sr. and granddaughter, Amy Ryder. She leaves behind a daughter, Mary Sue Briley of Palestine, Texas; two sons, Curtis L. Briley Jr. and wife Betty of Victoria, Va., and James A. Briley of Jacksonville, Fla.; one grandson, Curtis L. Briley III of Chesapeake, and granddaughter, Mallisa N. Briley of Lady Smith, Va.; and a great-grandson, Austin Ryder of Tennessee. A graveside service will be held Thursday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. The family will receive friends at 313 Oaklette Drive, Chesapeake, at other times. Hollomon- Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
