Too Chong

Too Yong Chong VIRGINIA BEACH - Too Yong Chong passed away Oct. 11, 2010. He was born Feb. 13, 1928 to the late Tae Sae Chong and Nam Sung Kim in Chung Joo City, Korea. Too Yong Chong leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 47 years, Kap Hui Chong (Yi) of Virginia Beach; son, Ku Ho Chong and wife Deborah of Austin, Texas; daughter, Myong Hyon Winston and husband Matthew of Virginia Beach; two sisters in Korea; three grandchildren, Katie Alice Chong, Isabella Winston and Gabriel Winston. Mr. Chong was a graduate of Yon Sei University in Korea with a degree in business management. He was an entrepreneur and founded several small businesses. He worked hard all his life to provide for his family and put both his children through college. Mr. Chong also served in the Korean Army and was a Korean War veteran. He has recently been recognized by the Korean Government for his contributions in the war. Mr. Chong was also an accomplished competitive singer, and had won many awards. He was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed golfing, daily walks, playing sports and watching Dallas Cowboys football games. But mostly he loved playing with his grandchildren. He was a devoted member of Tidewater Korean Baptist Church and Hampton Roads Senior Center. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 13, at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, Oct. 14, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park.
