Beatrice Jackson Obituary

Beatrice Jackson CHESAPEAKE - Betrice "Bea" Jackson of the 2500 block of Narrow St. died Oct. 7, 2010. Born in Norfolk County, now known as Chesapeake, she was employed as a dietician at Chesapeake General Hospital faithfully for 33 years. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church West Munden where she was a former member of the usherboard and was involved with the Broadlawn Civic League. The widow of Walter Jackson Sr. is survived by her daughter, Veronica J.A. Little; son, Walter Jackson Jr.; sister, Sarah Lawton; three grandchildren, L. Michele Jackson, Larry D. Austin Jr. (Kristin), and Princess Vanessa Jackson; five great-grandchildren, Jodeci, Atia, Imoni, Jonneacesa, and Christopher; two nieces, Janet Aviles and Angela Covil; one nephew, Anthony Covil; one uncle, William Brooks Jr.; a special friend, Herbert Artis; and a host of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Estelle Cowell and Roy Cowell. A funeral will be held Friday, Oct. 15, at noon in First Baptist Church West Munden, 1541 Lyons Ave., Chesapeake, with the Rev. Rosalind Moats presiding. Burial will be held in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. A viewing will be held today at Community Funeral Home, Norfolk.
