Viola Vaughan Obituary

Viola Mizell Vaughan NORFOLK - Viola Mizell Vaughan entered into eternal rest Oct. 9, 2010. She was born Dec. 6, 1917 to the late Lula D. and Charlie S. Mizell Sr. in Norfolk. She was predeceased by her husband Clarence Vaughan; her only child, Roland "Buddy" Lee; three brothers, Arthur Davis, William Davis and Charlie S. Mizell; and her twin sister, Vivian M. Jones. Viola attended Booker T. Washington High School and was formerly employed at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. She was a member of Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church. She was a former member of St. Thomas Chapter No. 51 OES, PHA and the Tents. She leaves to cherish her memory eight grandchildren, Cynthia Lee Faulcon (Michael), Denise Lee, Pamela Lee Jones (David), Sharon Clemons (Frank), Charlina Monroe (Varis), Antonia White, Daphney Painter and Roland King; a special niece, Joyce Mizell Huskey (William); ex-daughter-in-law, Eloise Lee Williams; and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church, 1057 Kennedy St. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Norfolk. Metropolitan Funeral Service, Granby St. Chapel, is in charge. Viewing will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Condolences may be offered at www.metropolitanfuneralservice.com.
