Charles Ellis Obituary

Charles D. Ellis FRANKLIN - Charles Daniel "Dani" Ellis, 69, died Oct. 12, 2010 at Southampton Memorial Hospital. He was born in Macon County, North Carolina, and reared in Murfreesboro, N.C., a son of the late Herman Bryan and Louise Sutton Ellis. He was predeceased by a sister, Sue E. Boykin and a brother, William Bryan "Buddy" Ellis. Dani was an Army veteran and an honors graduate of Paul D. Camp Community College. He was retired from the Technical Department of Union Camp Corporation after 31 years of service. He was a member of the West Suffolk Baptist Church. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Patricia "Pat" Ellis; two daughters, Colleen Ellis Dover (Casey) of Durham, N.C., and Tina D. Lewis (Darrell) of Snow Hill, N.C.; two sons, Christopher D. "Chris" Ellis of Franklin and Herbert T. Dixon Jr. (Vanessa) of Youngsville, N.C.; six grandchildren, Parker Ellis Dover, Charles A. Nahrebecki (Rebecca), Bobbi Marie Neal, Tyler, Evan, and Madison Dixon; one great-grandson, Anthony Nahrebecki; two sisters, Anna Ruth E. Wood (Donald) of Suffolk and Linda E. Vann (Albert) of Conway, N.C.; one brother, Gerald W. Ellis (Mary Jo) of Murfreesboro, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Carol B. Ellis of Sedley; and many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, at West Suffolk Baptist Church with Pastor Ben Scofield officiating. Interment will follow in Southampton Memorial Park, Franklin. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Wright Funeral Home and suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Dani's name to West Suffolk Baptist Church, 2400 Holland Road, Suffolk, VA 23434. My thoughts and prayers are with Dani's family. He will be truely missed by everyone who loved him. He was my friend and My Brother in Jesus Christ! I wish there was more people in this world like him, as it would be a better place to live in. See you again one day my friend!
