Hester Taylor Obituary

Hester Aretha Taylor FRAKLIN - Hester Aretha "Rea" Taylor, 82, of the 1200 block of Carrsville Highway, died Oct. 11, 2010, in Courtland Healthcare Center. Born in Courtland, Va., she was a member St. Luke United Church of Christ. He is survived by three daughters, Virginia L. Taylor of Franklin, and Peggy T. Bradshaw (Melvin Sr.) of Suffolk, and an adopted daughter, Bernet Green of Franklin; five grandchildren, Deborah Parker (Travis), Sharon Taylor, Raymond Bradshaw (Melissa), Melvin Bradshaw Jr., Shakunda Edmonds (Ronnie Jr.); 13 great-grandchildren; one uncle, the Rev. Freddie Hines (Leona); one sister-in-law, Alma Taylor; extended family, the Dickerson family; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, at St. Luke United Church of Christ, Sedley, Va., with the Rev. Dr. J.J. Ferguson. Burial will be held in Mount Moriah Cemetery in Sussex County, Virginia. A wake will be held today, Oct. 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Engram Funeral Home, 1001 Armory Drive, Franklin, VA 23851.
