Jacqueline Branch Obituary

Jacqueline J. Branch HOPEWELL - Jacqueline Jones McCoy Branch, 78, of the 500 block of Heretick Ave., Hopewell, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010 at her residence. Born in Craven County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Dewey D. and Claudine Estelle Jones and was the wife of George N. Branch of the residence. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Branch is survived by her daughter, Kitty M. Parker of South Mills, N.C.; a son, Ornie A. McCoy Jr. and his friend Sondra Shelton of South Mills, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Debbie DeVincenzi and husband John of Surry, Va.; sisters, LaRue Brittle of Sedley, Va., Jean Albertson of Suffolk, Mollie Fowler and husband Steve of Suffolk, and Joni Joyner and husband Gene of Wakefield, Va.; brothers, William "Bill" Jones and wife Elna of Sedley, Dewey Jones Jr. and wife Gayle of Trinidad, Colo., Vernon Jones and wife Sue of Suffolk, and Franklin Jones of Suffolk; grandchildren, Kristin Bunn and husband Speight of Elizabeth City, N.C., and Benjamin Torborg of South Mills, N.C.; a great-grandchild, Jackson Bunn of Elizabeth City; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ornie A. McCoy Sr.; and her sisters, Thelma Atkins and Mildred Jones. A funeral will be conducted Thursday, Oct. 21, at 2 p.m. at Twiford Funeral Home's Memorial Chapel, 405 E. Church St., Elizabeth City, with the Rev. Wade Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.twifordfh.com.
