James Cochrane Sr.

James Cochrane Sr. NORFOLK - James C. Cochrane Sr., 81, passed away Oct. 19, 2010. A native of Utica, N.Y., he had worked as a police officer with the City of Norfolk with 19 years of service. He was Catholic, a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He is survived by his five children, James Cochrane Jr., Patricia Kleinhuizen, Robert Cochrane, Steven Cochrane, and Malia Woodard; nine grandchildren, Lisa Garcia, Kimberley Pacheco, Stephanie Cochrane, Joseph Cochrane, Robert Cochrane, Abigail Cochrane, Ashley Bell, Billy Cochrane and Lyndsey Cochrane; and two great-grandchildren, Julia Pacheco and Bryanna Pacheco; and his loving companion, Betty J. Wells. He was predeceased by a son, William Cochrane. A graveside service will be conducted Monday at 3 p.m. in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, Monday from noon until 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Norfolk F.O.P.
