Benjamin Pumo Obituary

Benjamin L. Pumo WEST POINT - Benjamin L. Pumo was born June 6, 1957 in Virginia Beach, son of the late Jerome A. and Virginia Mathews Pumo. He died Oct. 24, 2010 at Riverside Convalescent Center in West Point where he was one of the first residents and lived there for 20 years. He was preceded in death by a brother, Terry L. Pumo. Ben is survived by his loving family: a sister Toni P. Bunch of Chesapeake; a brother, Jerry Pumo, a special sister-in-law, Becky Pumo; a sister, Robin Pumo, all of West Point; along with several nieces and nephews. Ben was an extraordinary and talented young man who enjoyed making macramé and drawing. He also enjoyed studying and charting the weather for the residents of Riverside Convalescent Center and listening to the music of the 1950s. His charming smile and gentle soul was uplifting to all those who knew him. As Ben will be greatly missed by all us here, heaven has gained a very special angel. A funeral will be held at noon Wednesday in Vincent Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 417 11th St., West Point. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home. Condolences may be registered at www.vincentfh.com.

Dear Robin and Family,
We are so sorry to hear about your brother Ben...we really enjoyed him -- especially during the countless bingo games that we all played -- our "6-6" man is now an angel and I know God has given him a job already along with keeping his loving eyes on you, Robin! We send our deepest sympathies!
