Donald White Obituary

Donald C. White CHESAPEAKE - Retired U.S. Navy Cmdr. Donald C. White, 80, of the 400 block of Redbrick Drive, passed away Oct. 25, 2010 in a local hospital. A native of Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of the late Lemuel White and Dorothy Loeser. He served 32 years in the United States Navy retiring as a commander. He was a member and Deacon Emeritus at Woodland Heights Baptist Church. He was a past master of Berkley Masonic Lodge No. 167, and member of Ionic Royal Arch Chapter 46, Grice Commandery 16 and Friendship Chapter 57, Order of the Eastern Star. He was on the board of directors for the Norfolk Seaman's Friends Society and The Chesapeake Jail Ministry. He is survived by his wife, Louise White; two sons, Daniel White of Chesapeake and Rick White and wife June of Fredericksburg, Va.; a daughter, Betty Bradley of Seattle, Wash.; five grandchildren, Matt Sellers, Amy Bradley, Sam White, Alex White and Leigh White. A funeral will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. in Woodland Heights Baptist Church with Dr. Kenneth Barnes officiating. The burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Masonic Home of Virginia. Dear Louise & family. Myself, Va. & our family send our deepest sorrow & condolences. Don will be greatly missed
by many, he was a caring, loving, devote christian. Dear we did not know about him leaving us to be with his
LORD. I want you to know that I don't
get out as I used to, & received your
sorrow today when I was informed by
e-mail on my computer which I only use
from time to time. Louise dear we will all miss him with deep feelings all his friends & brothers, but is it so
wonderful to know that as a very devote
christian he has gone home to be with
his maker.
