Edward Sutter Obituary

Edward A. Sutter SUFFOLK - Edward Arthur Sutter, 76, of the 4100 block of Berwyn Way passed away Monday Oct. 25, 2010 in a local hospital. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran and member of Faith Lutheran Church, Suffolk. Ed retired from the General Electric Plant in Suffolk, and loved to fish, working in the garden and flower beds, and just being outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Bernice Sutter; his wife of 30 years, Mary K. Sutter; and his sister, Carole Sandall and husband Harold. He is survived by a nephew that was like a son, Jeff Crawford and his wife Maria; a niece that was like a daughter, April D. Cheney and husband Kevin; a stepdaughter, Teresa Stube and husband Mark; two stepsons, Mark Renigar and wife Dorothy and Todd Renigar and wife Trina; a brother, Gordon Sutter and wife Carole; and a host of other extended family and friends. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29, in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, by Pastor Scott Benson. The family will receive friends in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Also a celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, in Faith Lutheran Church, 2730 Bridge Road, Suffolk, VA 23435 with a luncheon to follow the service. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.
