Elmer Bond Obituary

Elmer E. Bond Jr. VIRGINIA BEACH - Elmer Elson Bond Jr., 63, of Senior Court passed away Friday, Oct. 22, 2010. He was a native of Portsmouth and was retired from Chesbay Distributing. He was also an Army veteran of Vietnam, a former scout master and a former firefighter. He is survived by three daughters, Leticia Cologgi of Portsmouth, Paula Bond of Chesapeake, Tiffany Bienko and her husband Peter of Moyock, N.C.; one son, Elmer E. Bond III and his wife Tiajuana of Portsmouth; one sister, Patricia Bond Kendrick of Valley Park, Mo.; one brother, William S. "Buddy" Bond II of Portsmouth and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Bond. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, in the Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Tim Robertson. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.

Elmer was one of my classmates whom I graduated with in 1965 from Deep Creek High School. We recently had our 45th Reunion. I had talked to him in the past usually around reunion time. My condolences to his family and friends.
