To my other brother, Orville. You and Irving Joseph (Joe) were/are my brothers. Your family and Joe would have made you proud when they spoke about you today. You lived with me and my family (Melvin) during the summers, holidays, etc. when you were in college. All of us ran track, and as the Bishop said, "You ran a great race." I miss and love you bro. James "Rock" Melvin.

Orville was a brother to me. He and Irving Joseph (Joe) stayed with us. They are very close to my family and especially to my brother, James Melvin (Rock). All of them were track stars. Orville was mild-mannered and low-keyed. Orville, I miss and love you. To the family: God bless you and stay strong. A gem has left this world. Love, sis, Elmira Melvin Pitchford

To the Harris Family: Orville and I were classmates in the School of Business at NSU where he also ran track. He always had a smile on his face and a positive outlook on life. I always looked forward to seeing him over the years when returning to NSU Homecomings. Accordingly, I was shocked after hearing of his passing while attending Homecoming this past weekend. The last time I saw him however was at one of the Carribean Festivals/Parade in DC and he was his usual jovial self. Thanks to the family for sharing such a gentle man. He is already missed.
