Roma Rosser Nelson NORFOLK - Roma Rosser Nelson, 83, of the 900 block of Quail St., went to be with her Lord early Tuesday morning. Roma was born in Halifax, N.C., but lived most of her life in Norfolk. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, James H. Nelson; and her son, Leroy Rosser. She is survived by her two daughters, Bonnie Gillian (George) of Upper Marlboro, Md., and Betty Turner (Theodore) of Norfolk. She is also survived by her four sisters, Rhodie Alston of Pittsburgh, Caldonia Silver of Roanoake Rapids, N.C., Daisy Wright of Castillia, N.C., and Ruth Walker of Norfolk. She also leaves six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren to cherish her memory. The family would also like to give a very special thanks to her two caregivers, Paul McKinley and Byron Harper. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Nov. 5 in Metropolitan Funeral Service, Granby Street Chapel. Interment will be in Roosevelt Memorial Cemetery in Chesapeake. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
