Floyd Hudgins Jr.

Floyd E. Hudgins PORTSMOUTH - Floyd Ellis "Knocky" Hudgins Jr., 80, of West Norfolk Road, died Nov. 11, 2010 in his home. A native of Mathews County, he was predeceased by his first wife, Beverly Trower Hudgins; and two infant children, Bonnie Gayle and Thomas. Mr. Hudgins retired as a harbor pilot with the Department of Defense and was previously a tugboat captain for many years. He was a member of First Lutheran Church on Colley Avenue in Norfolk, the Seafarers International Union, and was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and Korea. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Baldwin Hudgins; one daughter, Patricia Griffin and husband Jimmy; three sons, Andrew Hudgins, Ellis Hudgins III and Kenny Hudgins and wife Linda; three sisters, Virginia Hughes, Erma Webb and husband Jimmy and Jeanette Hudgins, all of Mathews; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Monday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m. in Olive Branch Cemetery by Pastor Richard Goeres.
