Linda Transeau Obituary

Linda B. Transeau NORFOLK - Linda Nell Brouillette Transeau, 69, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010 in a local hospital. She was a retired real estate agent having worked for Re/Max for many years. Born in Marksville, La., she was the daughter of the late Etty Nell Wood Brouillette and Alfred Benoit Brouillette. Linda was a graduate of Istrouma High School and attended Southwestern University in Lafayette, La. She was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, was an avid mahjong player, and loved to travel. She also enjoyed her membership in the Book Club at Lafayette Library and volunteered for Meals on Wheels, several hospice groups, and for many charitable organizations in our area. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Kristie Transeau of Los Angeles and Cindy T. Niblo and her husband Scott of Norfolk; a sister, Marsha Dumas and her husband William of Baton Rouge, La.; a brother, Michael Brouillette and his wife Cathy of Baton Rouge; two beloved grandchildren, Jack and Alex Niblo; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass will be conducted at 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 19, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Father Joseph H. Metzger III. The family will receive friends at her daughter, Cindy's home on Friday from 5 until 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to a charity of your choice. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be offered to the family through hdoliver.com.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief. I grew up with Linda; went to school, slumber parties and on dates. I have so many memories of our lives together. I will mis my dear friend. Mike and Marsha may remember me, I know you probably want; Linda was a true lady and a loving person. May God bless you all.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort. I know I have millions of memories, I grew up with Linda; went to school and on dates with Linda. We had so many slumber parties. She was always a lady,loving and caring. We are praying for you and your families. Mike and Marsha will probably remember me.
