Dorothy Pierce Obituary

Dorothy Barnes Pierce CHESAPEAKE - Dorothy Barnes Pierce, 92, passed away Nov. 18, 2010 in her home. A Norfolk native, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Susie Barnes and the widow of Charles Martin Pierce Sr. She is survived by her five daughters, Dorothy Morgan and husband Jerry, Joyce Paris and husband James, Susie Greenfield and husband David, Mary Pierce and husband Mike and Linda Pierce; two sons, Charles Pierce Jr. and wife Rose and Mark Pierce; 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, Andrew and Pete Barnes and a sister, Madeline Barrett. A graveside service will be conducted Monday at 11:30 a.m. in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, Sunday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I only had the priviledge of meeting Dorothy a couple of times many years ago. She was a sweet little southern lady. God Bless her and may she rest in peace.
