Agnes Cherry Obituary

Agnes Hill Cherry CHARLOTTE - Agnes Hill Cherry died peacefully in her sleep Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010 at home, after a brief illness that provided her with an opportunity to hug and bid us farewell with her steadfast faith and grace. Agnes was born March 6, 1921 in Chocowinity, N.C., to Mollie and Milton Hill. She enjoyed 57 years of marriage and companionship with Ashley Roberson Cherry before his passing in 2002. As a Navy family they resided in Norfolk for more than 40 years. Agnes moved to Charlotte in 2004. Her three children survive her: Jean C. Moses (Paul) of Yorktown, Va., Pattie C. Bethune (Marvin) of Charlotte, and Jim Cherry (Lynn) of Panama City, Fla. She is also survived by two sisters, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, as well as countless friends and loved ones. In lieu of memorials, please honor Agnes' memory with a hug to those close to you and random acts of kindness to someone in need. A memorial service will be held in the Solarium at Merry Wood, 3600 Park Road, Charlotte, N.C., today, Nov. 21, at 2 p.m. Interment will be Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011 at 2 p.m. in Arlington National Cemetery.
