Michael Wise Obituary

Michael T. Wise NORFOLK - Michael T. Wise, 62, passed away at his home Nov. 30, 2010. He was born in New Orleans, to the late Dr. Harry and Dr. Polly Wise. Mike graduated with an MBA from Old Dominion University and spent his career as a developer and Realtor, most recently with All Pros. His passion was renovating distressed houses to create new homes for families. Left to cherish his memory are Brenda, his wife and soulmate of 37 years; Martha and Joseph McCaffrey, his sister and brother-in-law; and their children and grandchildren; his uncle, Paul Wise; aunt, Shirley Winnerholt; his cousins; and the entire Belcher Family including Jim and Barbara, who are Brenda's parents. Mike had a special gift for friendships and his life was blessed by Craig Shepherd, Jared Peck, Jackie and Louis Sanders, Jack Carter, Stan Jason, Pat Yacarinno, Paul Pyle, Scott Minish, Harold Anten, Marty Mather, Bob Diana, and many more wonderful relationships. You made Mike's world brighter especially in the recent years. Mike was a former member of the Norfolk Host Lions Club and he was a Mason. A memorial service to celebrate Mike's life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, in the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. William McClung. The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the funeral home chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Foodbank, 800 Tidewater Drive, Norfolk. Mike's Motto was "Esse Quam Videri" - to be rather than to seem. In all of his life he truly lived up to those words. Online condolences may be made through www.hdoliver.com.
