Douglas Giesen Obituary

Douglas B. Giesen VIRGINIA BEACH - We are faithfully returning Doug to our Heavenly Father and thank Him for the time we had with Doug on this earth. His life was difficult, but he tried very hard to live a life of happiness but always found obstacles he had to overcome with his illness. He leaves his family and friends with a sense of peace that eventually came into his life ever after. His very beloved children, Brent and Erica, were much loved by him. David, his brother, and Jen, his sister, will cherish the good times they had together. We as his parents find peace that surpasses all understanding and believe Doug's peace has finally arrived. Glory be to God! In lieu of flowers, if you desire, our family would appreciate any donations in Doug's name or someone you love be sent to: National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI-VB), P.O. Box 22342, Virginia Beach, VA 23450. A celebration of Doug's life will be at the Virginia Beach United Methodist Church on Saturday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m. A reception will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. A heartfelt thank you to our family and friends who have traveled with us throughout Doug's life. Your support and understanding were always a constant reminder of God's Love. Psalm 103: 1-5
