Elizabeth Waterfield Obituary

Elizabeth H. Waterfield VIRGINIA BEACH - Elizabeth Hutchins "Betty" Waterfield, 69, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family Dec. 7, 2010. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Elizabeth Hutchins. Betty was a long- time member of Charity United Methodist Church, an honorary First Lady of the Pungo Strawberry Festival, past member of the Lady's Auxiliary of the Creeds Fire and Rescue Squad, and of the Eastern Star in Virginia Beach. Survivors include her loving husband of 49 years, Floyd E. Waterfield Jr.; her three children, Beth Hubbard and her husband Phil, Robin Lee and her husband Tim, and Floyd E. Waterfield III and his wife Kelly, all of Virginia Beach; one sister, Ethel Potter also of Virginia Beach; a brother, James Register of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; and four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Catherine, Ashton and Dean. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be deeply missed. "Grandma" loved nothing more than spending time with her family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel. A graveside service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Charity United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association Hampton Roads Chapter, 300 E. Plume St., Ste. 303, Norfolk, VA 23510 or to the Charity United Methodist Church Building Fund, 4080 Charity Neck Road, Virginia Beach. Online condolences may be made at www.hdoliver.com.
