Johnie Campbell Obituary

Johnie Faye Campbell CHESAPEAKE - Johnie Faye Campbell, 87, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010 in Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. Born in Lufkin, Texas, she was the daughter of the late John and Cora Henderson and was the widow of Gaines B. Campbell. Johnie will be remembered for her love of the Lord, her devotion to family, especially her two grandsons and a passion for gardening and flowers. She was a member of Great Bridge Baptist Church and a former member of Fort Johnson Baptist Church, Charleston, S.C. Left to cherish her memory are her son, V. Allen Campbell and wife Judy of Chesapeake; two grandsons, Jonathan A. Campbell of Fort Eustis and Ryan B. Campbell of Wake Forest, N.C.; a sister, Audrey Lowery of Houston, Texas; as well as a brother- in-law and several sisters- in-law whom she loved dearly. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 27, at Great Bridge Baptist Church. The Rev. Charles L. Moseley will officiate. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, in Live Oak Memorial Gardens, Charleston, S.C. The viewing will begin Monday with the family receiving friends from 10 to 11 a.m., one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Great Bridge Baptist Church, 640 S. Battlefield Blvd., Chesapeake, VA 23322. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, Chesapeake. Friends are invited to sign the online guest book at www.omanfh.com.

I will miss Johnie Faye.She was in the Naomi Sunday school class in 2004.We had fun going to meetings and going to dinners that she could attend.She was a wonderfull person and we traded pickle recipes. Mildred Villenave
