Gladys Escano Obituary

Gladys Escano VIRGINIA BEACH - Gladys Escano was born in Portsmouth, England Aug. 2, 1920. She grew up in the south of France, and came to the United States to marry a Navy man, Francisco Escano. After the death of her husband, she lived at Marian Manor in Virginia Beach. She died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010 after a brief illness. Gladys's life revolved around her family and she was most happy to be a part of her children's and grandchildren's lives. She is survived by her brother, Richard Salazar and his wife Odette; daughter, Dianne Shearin and son-in-law Ernie; her daughter, Priscilla Gibbs and her son-in-law Edward; grandson, Matthew Shearin and his wife Pilar; grandson, Andrew Shearin and his wife Jessica; and grandsons, Benjamin and Jonathan Circelli. She also had three great-grandchildren, Kiergan, Ethan and Kaelyn. The family wishes to thank the staff at Marian Manor who cared for her over the past 10 years. They are grateful to the doctors and nurses at Bayside Hospital, who provided expert care and comfort in the remaining days of her life. Family will receive friends at 9:30 a.m. with a 10:30 a.m. memorial service Monday, Dec. 27, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Committal services will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed to www.altmeyer. com.
