James Faries

James L. Faries VIRGINIA BEACH - James Linden Faries, 91, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather went to be with the Lord Dec. 10, 2010 at his home. He was born April 15, 1919 in Wilmington, Del., to Charles and Alice Faries. James served his country in World War II and Korea. He worked as a machinist at the Norfolk Naval Base until he retired in 1978. During his life, he enjoyed woodworking and traveling throughout the USA. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Edith; his daughter, Linda and her husband William; two grandsons, Keith and his wife Janel and Eric and his wife Laurie; and a great-granddaughter, Grace. A memorial graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 30 at Princess Anne Memorial Park, Great Neck Road. The service will be officiated by the Rev. Fred Bates.
