Nettie Greenough Obituary

Nettie M. Greenough CHESAPEAKE - Nettie Mason Greenough, 90, of Chesapeake passed away Dec. 25, 2010. Nettie was born Nov. 27, 1920 in Erwin, N.C. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Jessie "Dee" Mason and Jesse Greenough and a son, Ray Mason. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and was loved by all. Nettie was an active member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church, a Past High Priestess of the Ladies Oriental Shrine of Chesapeake and a member of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Spangenberg, Carolyn Edwards and Marilyn Kizina; her son, David Mason; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, in the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake. The interment will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The viewing will begin on Thursday with the family receiving friends from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Friends are also invited to send condolences and sign the online guestbook at www.omanfh.com.

dear greenough family, I knew nettie through church, eastern star and the lady shrine. I remember her as a very nice person. I haven't seen her for quite a few years but I do want to send you our sympathy and blessings. take care of yourselves and know that she is in the arms of our Lord and at peace.
