Deloris Mayo

Deloris D. Mayo PORTSMOUTH - Deloris D. Mayo, 64, went to be with the Lord Dec. 24, 2010. She was born in Portsmouth to the late Hardy and Ellen Dunbar. She was a member of Holy Light Church of Deliverance, Portsmouth, where she served on the Telephone and Tape Ministries. Her bishop and pastor was Samuel L. Carruth. She was a respected, loving and supportive mother and grandmother. She leaves to cherish her memory three beautiful children (and spouses), Willie Mayo Jr. (Judy) of Chesapeake, Barbara Mayo of Portsmouth, and Sharon Mayo-Taylor (Willie) of Woodbridge; two brothers, James Dunbar of Portsmouth, Hardy Dunbar of Sebastian, Fla.; seven grandchildren, DJ, Cassandra, Tammy, Kiara, Kevin, Ashley and Kendra; and six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews; and great-great- nieces and -nephews. A funeral will be held Thursday, Dec. 30 at 11 a.m. at Holy Light Church of Deliverance in Portsmouth. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing will be held today from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Corprew Funeral Home. On the day of the service, the family will assemble at 404 Triton Trace, Chesapeake for the procession to the church.
