Joseph Pitt Obituary

Joseph M. Pitt Jr. SUFFOLK - Joseph Marion Pitt Jr., 69, passed away Dec. 31, 2010. He was born in Philadelphia, the son of the late Joseph Marion Pitt and Alfreda Walgast Pitt. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during Vietnam. Joe later went on to become the owner and operator of Western Branch Press Inc. Joe is survived by his son, Joseph Marion Pitt III and wife Donna of Windsor; his former wife and good friend, Sue Burke of Suffolk; and his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Carol Pitt of Evans, Ga. A graveside service with military honors will be held Wednesday, Jan. 5, at 11 a.m. in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery with Chaplain Dick Dinges officiating. Friends may join the family Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, for a time of visitation. He was a great friend that shared my passion for the outdoors. I will never forget all the good times we shared on the archery range. I will miss you.

It is always a pleasure to watch a person work at a craft when they are good at what they do. Joe was not only good at what he did, but he was a fun guy to do business with and be around. I am sorry to learn of his passing and extend my sympathies to all his family and friends.
