Henrietta King Obituary

Henrietta King VIRGINIA BEACH - Henrietta "Tini" King, 88, of Lake Smith Terrace, passed away Jan. 6, 2011 in her home. A native of Texas, she was the daughter of the late Fletcher and Ella Newsome and the widow of Lt. Col. John W. King, of the 82nd Airborne, whom she married in London in 1944. She was a U.S. Army nurse during World War II. Tini is survived by her two daughters, Suzanne K. Brown of Murfreesboro, N.C., and Katy Emerson and husband Ray of Chesapeake; her son, Mike King and wife Connie of Virginia Beach; three grandsons, David Brown and wife Jeannie, John King and Harrison King; three granddaughters, Amber King, Avery and Ashlee Emerson; and two great-grandchildren, Haley Ryan Brown and Alysa Danielle Emerson. A funeral will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel. The burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
