Virgil Sawyer Obituary

Virgil E. Sawyer SUFFOLK - Virgil E. "Buzz" Sawyer, 83, passed away Jan. 11, 2011. Mr. Sawyer was a native of Portsmouth. He was retired from Exxon Oil Company as a transport driver. He was a Master Mason of the Lake Drummond Lodge No. 178 and a member of Beech Grove United Methodist Church, Suffolk. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Anne Rice Sawyer; his daughter, Deborah S. Hughson and husband Britt; grandson, Daniel G. Hughson and wife Kelly. A graveside funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 14, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Keith Moore. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8 p.m. at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, Bennett's Creek Chapel, 5685 Lee Farm Lane, Suffolk. Memorial donations may be made to charity of your choice. Condolences may be registered at www.bakerfoster.com.
