William Councilman Obituary

William Councilman VIRGINIA BEACH - William E. Councilman, 94, passed away peacefully Jan. 11, 2011. Born Feb. 23, 1919 in Burlington, N.C. He retired from Sentara Leigh Hospital in 1985. He was self- employed to until the age of 90. He was a veteran of World War II. His wife Dorothy of 47 years and his parents, A. Worth and Lizzie Councilman, preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughters, Deborah Vinson of Virginia Beach and Anne Ribar of Norfolk; a son, Charles Councilman of Germany; grandchildren, Chris, Penny, Elizabeth, Michael, Lee and Christine; great- grandchildren, Drew, Sam, Elizabeth, Emma, Jack and Livvy. The family would like to Thank Kim from Sentara Care Bridge Program for her compassionate care. The family welcomes friends to a reception Friday, Jan. 14, at 5 p.m. at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Philip Luebbert, 9528 25th Bay St., Norfolk.
