Audrey Allis Obituary
of Greene
Audrey E. Allis, 73, of Greene, died Sunday afternoon, March 23, 2008, at Bridgewater Nursing Facility. She was predeceased by her parents, Spencer and Evelyn Allis; and a brother, Richard Allis. She is survived by her family, sister-in-law, Joan Allis, Greene; nephew, Richard Allis, Greene; niece, Lauren Shafer and Martin Ross, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; great-nephew, John Shafer, Vestal; great-nieces, Corey and Josh Peters, Vestal, Rachael Allis, Binghamton, Audrey Allis, Mt. Upton; and also one great-great-niece and two great-great-nephews. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, Greene, a retired School Teacher from Chenango Forks School District, and active in the Eastern Star.
Memorial Services will be held at the Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango Street, Greene, on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Jay Zaremba, Pastor of her church, will officiate. Burial will be in Sylvan Lawn Cemetery, Greene, at a later date. The family will receive friends at the Root Funeral Home on Thursday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Audrey was a very dear friend to me. Our friendship began when she was a little girl and continued through the years. I will miss our visits.

Allis family your Aunt was one of my most memorable teachers as well as being a friend of my family's long after I was at Chenango Forks school. She always kept in touch with us asked about my progress in life and education. She was one of the best teachers a child could have had in life.
