Rachel DePhillip, 90, of Endicott, passed away Monday, March 24, 2008. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul M. DePhillip; her aunt and uncle, who raised her, Frank and Celia George; her brother, Jerry Salzano. She is survived by her daughter, Louise Stroman, Binghamton; her son and daughter-in-law, Paul (Patricia) DePhillip, Endicott; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Lisa (Patrick) Whalen and their children, Amanda, Christina and Brigette, all of Rhode Island; Danielle Weiler (fiance, Michael Buchowski) and her son, Erik Dowling, Clarks Summit, Pa.; two sisters-in-law, Donna Salzano and Christine George, both of Vestal; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Endicott, and the Binghamton Moose Lodge. She was a former check writer for Endicott Johnson Corp. and worked in various retail businesses throughout Endicott. The family expresses their sincere appreciation to the staff of Absolut Care of Endicott for the extraordinary care given to Rachel.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 9:30 a.m. from the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc., 1905 Watson Blvd., Endicott, and at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, where a Funeral Mass will be held. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Pucedo Funeral Home on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 1249 Upper Front St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
